London, 9 May 2024 – Impax Asset Management (“Impax”), a specialist asset manager investing in the transition to a more sustainable economy, announces it has received the King’s Award for Enterprise, in the Sustainable Development category.
Impax has been recognised for its successes related to investing in the transition to a more sustainable economy that it has achieved since it last won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development in 2020. This has included: growing its range of investment strategies across multiple asset classes; developing its investment frameworks and taxonomies; establishing offices in Dublin, New York and Tokyo; impact reporting, corporate engagement and policy advocacy; its charitable support; and its focus on diversity and gender equality, both at the firm and across its investment portfolios.
Ian Simm, Chief Executive & Founder, Impax said:
“We are honoured to receive this King’s Award for Enterprise and to be recognised alongside some of the UK’s most innovative and pioneering businesses, following our first Queen’s Award ten years ago. The King’s Award recognises Impax’s commitment over more than twenty-five years to investing in companies that are advancing the transition to a more sustainable economy, our deepening role in helping to shape policy related to sustainable development and our contribution to the communities in which we operate.”
Impax previously won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development in 2020 and in 2014. The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 58th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
Awarded in May 2024 by the King’s Awards Office at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy for demonstration of sustainable products, services or interventions for more than two years as evidenced by the benefits or positive outcomes of actions and practices.
