Executive Director, Business Development
Stuart is responsible for co-ordinating the implementation of Impax’s strategy and business development, for initiating and managing client partnerships and for leading the further evolution of Impax’s systematic equities commercial strategy. He joined Impax in January 2026 and is a member of Impax’s Management Committee
Stuart joins from HSBC Asset Management, where he spent five years as Chief Executive Officer, UK. During his 15-year career at the company he held a number of roles, including: Chief Executive Officer, International; Global Head of Strategy, M&A and Chief of Staff; and Head of UK Institutional. Previously he held senior business development roles at Insight Investment and Threadneedle Investments. Stuart is a Non-Executive Board Director of the National Employment Saving Trust Corporation (NEST), the UK Government’s workplace pension scheme. He previously held roles as a Trustee Director of the HSBC Bank Pension Trust (UK) Ltd, for ten years, and was a member of the UK Investment Association’s Advisory Council and its Trade & Investment sub-committee.
Stuart is a keen advocate of inclusive culture and removing the stigma of mental health in the workplace and society. Stuart sits on the Advisory Board of the Asset Owner Diversity Charter and is a Board Director of the UK’s Diversity Project and is Executive sponsor of its Mental Health community. In 2016 together with his four brothers he raised over £50,000 for charities competing in Marathon des Sables (6 marathons in 6 days in the Sahara Desert).
Stuart holds a BSc honours degree in Chemistry and European Studies (German) from the University of Sussex and the University of Freiburg, an MBA from London Business School, and the Investment Management Certificate and the Sustainable Investing Certificate from the CFA Institute
