Prior to co-founding and managing the Climate Property Fund in 2008, Esme was a Director of Capital Trust Limited (1996–2007), Founding Partner of Cap Real LLP (2003-2007) and Managing Director of Midroc Real Estate AB (1999-2006).

Esme has managed approximately £460 million in the UK, Sweden and France, amassing considerable experience in property investment and fund management since 1988. He has also sourced, negotiated and serviced >£329m of debt in 28 deals from twelve banks in the UK, Sweden and France. Esme is additionally a Trustee of the Lowther Estate Trust.
