Catherine Chen

Managing Director and Financial Advisor

Catherine Chen has been in the investment field since 1993.

Before joining RBC, she was part of the SRI Wealth Management Group at Piper Jaffray, where she advised foundations, nonprofits and high net worth individuals on ESG investments. Prior to that, Catherine worked with J.P. Morgan as an investment banker covering the healthcare, natural resources and technology sectors. During her tenure at J.P. Morgan, Catherine advised clients on more than $5 billion of M&A, project finance and equity and fixed income underwriting transactions, working out of the company’s New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong offices.

Catherine is on the board of directors of the East Bay Community Foundation and has served on boards of the Women’s Funding Network and the Children’s Council of San Francisco. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both economics and history from the University of California, Berkeley, where she is a Cal Alumni Scholar.

Along with her husband, she is a proud parent of two kids.
